Even though you try to do everything to protect it, sometimes your heart breaks. And you need to put it back together. As you look down on all those pieces, you might find doubt, fear and a million bleeding pieces on the ground. You were such a fool. You knew this would happen. Once you fix it, you’re keeping it for yourself. Only you can protect your heart, it’s not safe in somebody else’s hands so you solemnly vow never to give it to anyone.

Everybody changes a lot during the course of a long term relationship. You get to know a part of yourself you haven’t known before, you learn to make compromises and you might even change certain things about yourself.
